KERYFLEX NAIL RESTORATION

What is Keryflex?

This nail restoration system offers an alternative option for patients with damaged toenails.  It provides an immediate cosmetic improvement after one visit.  The look and feel is completely natural and most importantly, Keryflex allows the nails to bend with the natural movement of the toes and will not cause further damage to the underlying natural nail.

KeryFlex is flexible, yet durable, and designed specifically for the toes. It’s free of harsh acids used in salon systems. Keryflex is non-porous and will not allow moisture to permeate and get between the natural and prosthetic nails. KeryFlex’s medical grade resin is impregnated with the hydroxypyridone antifungal ingredient Piroctone.

How does it work?

A safe, medical grade resin gel is applied to the nail bed and hardened with a UV light, allowing the material to improve the nail appearance immediately.  Once the resin gel is bound to the nail, you can shape and smooth the nail to any appearance you like.  Following the gel, a sealant is applied to make it non-porous and non-permeable for long lasting effects.

What is the difference between Keryflex and an acrylic nail?

Acrylic nails are rigid and do not bend with the natural movement of the toes. As a result, acrylic nails applied to the toenails can cause damage to the layer of tissue under the nail (nail bed). Acrylic nails are also applied using strong acids which irritate the nail bed and can further damage the existing nail.

What can I expect at my appointment?

Our highly trained certified nail technician, under the supervision of our Podiatrist, will trim the damaged nail and prepare the nail bed.  The procedure takes 30 minutes or less and you will be able to shape and paint the nail the same day.

Keryflex treatment is not covered by insurance. Please call the office for more information on the cost of this procedure.
