Mike is a Physical Therapist joining Coastal Orthopedics with 22 years of experience in Orthopedics and Sports Medicine.

Mike has been practicing as a Physical Therapist working in the outpatient setting to rehabilitate patients both pre- and post-operatively across New England. He has worked with athletes in a variety of sports helping them to return to full functional activity following injury. Mike’s dedication to helping patients move better using a functional movement and mobility system has been the focus of his training. His belief is that moving effectively and efficiently over a lifetime minimizing the dysfunctions of movement and correcting asymmetries is a key component to a long healthy life.

 

Mike is an avid runner and a New England native who loves skiing, hiking, and going to the beach with his family. Mike is also the Head Cross Country Coach and Assistant Track/Field Coach for Hampton Academy in Hampton NH.

Jeffrey Lebel, Physical Therapist

Jeff is a physical therapist with three decades of experience in outpatient orthopedics, sport medicine and post operative rehabilitation in the Southern Maine area with recent transition to the North Shore.  His clinical interest involves returning patients to their previous levels of function with a focus on biomechanical principles and functional movement patterns.  He believes in creating rehab programs that are specific to the individual and their needs for return to their previous activity level.  

Outside of work, Jeff is an avid golfer, regularly attends sporting events and concerts, enjoys the beach, and spending time with his two adult sons and friends.    

Sarah Lathum, Occupational Therapist

Sarah is interested in all aspects of hand therapy evaluation and treatment with a particular interest in splinting, graded motor imagery, dry needling, and yoga related interventions. She believes in a strong postural base from which all movement begins. She loves pushing people to reach their functional goals and getting people back to their prior level of function including sports and all physical activities. She has been working as an occupational therapist (OT) since 2006 receiving her certified hand therapist (CHT) credential in 2014.  

Sarah enjoys staying active outside of work including hiking, mountain biking, running and snowboarding. She also practices and teaches yoga. She loves to travel and spend time with family and friends, including her goofy tuxedo cat, Teton.  

Katherine Zanchi

Meet Katherine Zanchi

Occcupational Therapist

Worcester State University

A graduate of Worcester State University, Katherine chose to become an occupational therapist because she enjoyed the idea of helping others. “I like helping other people achieve success in their day-to-day functions and facilitating their return to the hobbies and activities they love,” she explains. When treating patients Katherine strives to be as collaborative as possible. “I like to work closely with the patient, using my medical knowledge and therapeutic skills to help them achieve their goals.”

Katherine treats patients with many different injuries and has a particular interest in upper extremity orthopedics. She says she enjoys the variety of her work as an occupational therapist. “We have many different treatments to help patients and no case is the same. I also enjoy the opportunity to work with people of all ages, both adults and children.” When she is not busy with patients, Katherine loves to stay active and be outdoors. She particularly enjoys running, biking, camping, as well as spending time with family and friends.

Sara Addesa, PT

Sara Addesa, PT, MS comes to Coastal Orthopedics with over 22 years of experience. Sara spent the beginning of her career treating individuals with severe neurological and orthopedic injuries at Spaulding Hospital and Boston Medical before transitioning to outpatient orthopedics 15 years ago.  Sara's philosophy of treatment is to look at her patients' overall biomechanics from head to toe, in order to restore to full function and prevent reinjury. She takes a special interest in treating runners, and her favorite joint, the shoulder. 

 

When not at work, Sara is physically active herself with weight training, running and bringing any of her 3 kids to all of their activities. During her free time in the summer, Sara is happiest at any local beach or at her family's summer home on the coast of Maine.

Kathy is a Physical Therapist Assistant with 15 years experience in outpatient sports and orthopedic Physical Therapy where she has helped patients of all populations and injuries complete the cycle of recovery. She worked in Athletic Training as an Undergraduate of URI and has been a Certified Personal Trainer since 1997. She enjoys collaborating with patients to help them return to the activities and life that they love.

 

Kathy loves spending time outdoors kayaking, hiking, snowmobiling, working out and gardening with her husband and family.
