OUR PHYSICIANS

Dr. Ariel Kwart is a fellowship trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in spine surgery. His clinical expertise is in both non-operative and surgical treatment of the full spectrum of conditions affecting the spine, including the neck and back. He has a particular interest in minimally invasive techniques and motion-preserving surgery.

Dr. Kwart grew up in Wellesley, MA and completed his undergraduate studies at Cornell University, receiving a BA in Biology. He then attended New York Medical College, where he earned placement into Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society as well as Gold Humanism Honor Society. During his orthopaedic surgery residency training at Penn State, Dr. Kwart earned awards for excellence as an educator and participated in research which was published in medical journals, as well as  presented at national meetings. Following residency, Dr. Kwart completed a fellowship in spine surgery at the University of Wisconsin, training and mentoring under nationally recognized and esteemed spine surgeons, which helped him develop the tools and skills needed to treat the full spectrum of spinal conditions.

With a primary focus on alleviating pain and restoring quality of life, Dr. Kwart understands open communication and a personalized approach are fundamental to achieving optimal outcomes. He emphasizes compassion and a patient-centered perspective, and utilizes both non-surgical and surgical techniques to accomplish mutually-shared goals with patients. He has been trained in an assortment of minimally invasive techniques and complex procedures using innovative technologies, which are essential for minimizing pain and maximizing function after surgery.

When not in the clinic or the operating room, Dr. Kwart enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter, playing basketball or tennis, and discovering new restaurants.
